1.1.2 Subject Pronouns

 What are subject pronouns?

Subject pronouns are words that replace a noun and are used as the subject of a sentence.
They tell us who is doing the action.

Example:

  • Maria is a student.She is a student.


List of Subject Pronouns

  • I

  • You

  • He

  • She

  • It

  • We

  • They


Use of Subject Pronouns

  • I → the person who is speaking

  • You → the person being spoken to

  • He → a male person

  • She → a female person

  • It → a thing, animal, or object

  • We → two or more people (including the speaker)

  • They → two or more people or things


Subject Pronouns in Simple Sentences

  • I am a student.

  • You are my friend.

  • He is a teacher.

  • She is my sister.

  • It is a book.

  • We are happy.

  • They are students.


Basic Identification

  • Identifying subject pronouns in sentences
